COVID-19 has entirely altered the state of modern healthcare, resulting in an unprecedented paradigm shift. The pandemic has demonstrated where strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities exist in the healthcare industry’s ability to react to catastrophic events. Additionally, current circumstances have also been catalytic in extending remote access and virtual healthcare for distant patients. It is now a given that this “new normal” will persist well beyond the pandemic and that telemedicine will increasingly become the norm. However, many unanswered questions remain: What will be the future appearance of healthcare? How will patients be safely monitored to avoid harm? And, what robust platforms and technologies must emerge to provide secure and effective remote telemedicine?
Drawing insights from a recent ISMG survey, Mark Baik, Healthcare Security Architect for Palo Alto Networks and Dr. Thomas Duffey, Security Innovation Principal at Accenture Security, will address these questions and more.
