Commvault has enhanced Commvault Activate, its data analytics platform, to help consumers address data protection needs and obligations. Commvault Activate can now act as a standalone solution that will work to improve file storage optimization. New tools for the solution include encryption and data purging to maintain privacy while staying in compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act and EU General Data Protection Regulation. Commvault CEO Sanjay Mirchandani said the tools aim to “truly protect, manage, control and use the data.”
Cyberwatching has released a GDPR Temperature Tool for small- or medium-sized enterprises to gauge where they stand against the regulation in terms of running the risk of violations. The tool asks users questions regarding data processing procedures, and the answers will yield information on an organization’s status against regulations. Areas of weakness will be indicated, but the tool provides recommendations for improvement and better compliance.Â Â
Smart DLP is FileCloud’s newest data leak prevention software with multi-cloud functionality. The solution simplifies data organization and ensures protection while streamlining compliance with regulations such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and EU General Data Protection Regulation. “By giving companies a 360-degree view of their network to defend against data leaks and loss, Smart DLP is setting the standard for the new era of data protection,” FileCloud CEO Madhan Kanagavel said.
Opera has unveiled Opera 64, an updated browser that boasts the ability to block all third-party tracking cookies. Users’ browsers are equipped with a simplified setup for the blockers while being allowed to see how many cookies have been blocked and change the setting from site to site.
Tru Optik is launching Privacy.TV, a privacy compliance tool for connected TV. The solution will employ TransUnionâ€™s people-based ID resolution with the solution, giving consumers the ability to securely opt out or control how personally identifiable information is used for CTV advertising. â€œOur Privacy.TV solution will enable publishers, agencies, adtech platforms and content providers to comply with their opt-out obligations under CCPA with respect to CTV and will integrate well with their overall CCPA compliance and consumer privacy initiatives.” Tru Optik Chief Privacy and Business Affairs Officer Jonathan Bokor said.
