Irish DPC opens new investigation into Apple over GDPR

The Irish Data Protection Commissioner has opened another investigation into Apple, Reuters reports. The latest probe will focus on whether the tech company has complied with the data access request provision under the EU General Data Protection Regulation. The DPC opened a pair of investigations last year into Apple over data processing for targeted advertising and whether its privacy policy for such processing meets transparency standards. The agency currently has 20 investigations open into multinational tech companies with headquarters in Ireland.
